Our Hojicha powder is the younger sibling to matcha. A roasted green tea ground into a fine powder and prepared just like you would your matcha powder, this tea is more earthy with roasted, nutty, and chocolatey notes. Hojicha powder is a soft brown color, not vibrant green like matcha.

Curious about the matcha craze or are you a seasoned matcha drinker? You've got to try Hojicha, too! There are so many ways you can use this powdered (ground) roasted green tea. Simply add to hot water and whisk or toss it in your water bottle and shake up for added benefits to your workout hydration routine. Sprinkle on top of your yogurt or truffles. You can even use it in cocktails. Hojicha is a delicious and versatile tea that is a must-try.

Contains Caffeine

1 small pouch contains 40 grams of matcha/16 cups of tea, 1 large pouch contains 200g/65 cups

Ingredients / Materials

100% roasted Japanese green tea (hojicha), ground into a fine powder. Single ingredient, no additives. Contains Caffeine.

What It Is & Why You'll Love It

Matcha green tea is all the rage, and for good reason. Not only is this green tea matcha powder a chock full of nutrients and antioxidants, it's umami, sweet, and vegetal to boot.

A bright green hue looks gorgeous in your cup whether served as a lemonade, a latte, or in a smoothie.

Matcha is a delicious and versatile tea that is a must-try. Save 10% when you subscribe - never run out of the vital ingredient to your morning ritual.

BULK VALUE: When you buy our large pouch (200g) you save $25!

Origin and Quality

Nishio (Aichi) and Kyoto, Japan

Our matcha is high-quality, vibrant green, and incredibly fresh and "ceremonial-grade."

Ceremonial-grade is a buzz word with no regulation and I won't bore you with more details here (keep an eye out for a blog post). Our matcha is quality-tested frequently and blind-taste tested against other brands on a regular basis and always comes out on top.

Health Benefits

Matcha is incredibly high in antioxidants, and is nutrient-dense with vitamins A, C, E, K, and B-complex. It provides essential minerals, including potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, and phosphorus.

You should always speak with your doctor before using any consumable product for health-related reasons. We are not licensed medical professionals and we do not make medical claims.

How to Prepare

Curious about the matcha craze or are you a seasoned matcha drinker? There are so many ways you can use this powdered (ground) green tea. Matcha can be prepared simply or elaborately but to get started:

In your matcha bowl, use 3-4 grams of matcha (or 1 teaspoon, if you don't have a kitchen scale) for a 12-16 ounce serving.

Add a small amount of room temp-to-hot water (never boiling) to your powder.

Use your bamboo matcha whisk to gently incorporate the water into your matcha powder, making a paste. Think brownie batter; get out any clumps.

Add more water and use your whisk to lift the paste off the bowl.

Now, add more water, about 1/3 cup and whisk in a zig-zag pattern with your bamboo matcha whisk until well-incorporated and frothy.

If iced, pour over ice and dairy of your choice in your favorite glass.

If hot, pour into your cup and top with steamed/warmed dairy of your choice.

Can I make these vegan?

Absolutely! This mix was designed to play perfectly with vegan butter and your favorite egg replacer. You’ll still get that iconic chewy texture and golden finish without any dairy or animal products.

Is one bag enough for a party?

With 40 to 50 cookies per bag (depending on how much dough you "sample" along the way), one bag is usually plenty! But honestly? Once people realize they’re gluten-free, they tend to go fast—you might want a backup bag just in case.

FAQs

Q: What does NADA stand for?

A: NADA is Jules' way of saying this flour has NADA (nothing!) in it that you do not want. No grains, no gluten, no nuts, no lectin, and none of the Big 9 allergens. Just clean, wholesome ingredients that bake beautifully.

Q: What is tigernut and is it safe for people with nut allergies?

A: Worry not! Despite the name, tigernut is not actually a nut at all. It is a small root vegetable, or tuber, that happens to be a fantastic source of prebiotics and resistant starch. It is completely safe for people with tree nut or peanut allergies.

Q: How is NADA Flour different from gfJules All Purpose Gluten Free Flour?

A: The original gfJules All Purpose Flour is a white flour replacement that is exceptionally light and fine, making it ideal for everything from pastry to bread. NADA Flour is entirely grain-free and contains more fiber and healthy resistant starches, making it a great choice for those following Paleo, AIP, or grain-free diets. Both work as a 1-for-1 swap in most recipes, but NADA has a slightly heartier texture. Jules’s original All Purpose Blend is recommended for yeast breads.

Q: Can I use NADA Flour in yeast bread recipes?

A: NADA Flour is not recommended as a straight swap in most yeast recipes due to its grain-free composition. However, Jules has developed specific yeast bread recipes using NADA Flour, including her Grain-Free Sandwich Bread recipe, which you can find on her recipe blog!

Quick gfJules® Gluten-Free Focaccia Mix Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 egg (OR 3 Tbs./1.5 fl oz aquafaba OR powdered egg sub)

3 Tbs./1.5 fl. oz extra virgin olive oil

1/2 cup/4 fl oz warm water

1 yeast packet (included)

olives, capers, herbs, cherry tomatoes, flaky sea salt or other toppings (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Dough:

Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Mix egg, 2 Tbs. oil, warm water, focaccia mix, and yeast for 2-3 minutes. Dough will be wet and sticky.

Focaccia:

Prepare a small rimmed baking sheet by lining with parchment. Spoon dough onto parchment. Liberally oil your palms and pat dough out to ~ 9” elongated oval. Dimple the focaccia all over with your fingers to create deep impressions, but don’t press all the way through.

Preheat oven to 375° F (static)/ 350° F (convection).

Cover dough with oiled parchment. Let rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot. After the dough has risen, arrange toppings and drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until the crust is risen, lightly browned, and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Serve with olive oil and vinegar for dipping or with your favorite meal as pull-apart bread. Also makes delicious pizza crust!

FAQs

Can I make this dough ahead of time?

You sure can! You can prep the dough and let it slow-rise in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Cold proofing actually develops a deeper, more artisanal flavor. Just let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before you dimple and bake it.

What baking accessories do I need for the best focaccia?

To get that authentic finish, Jules recommends a metal baking pan, parchment paper and a sturdy cooling rack. Taking the bread out of the pan and putting it straight onto a rack is the secret to keeping that bottom crust crisp instead of soggy!

Rest assured that with Jules's choice in Purity Protocol Gluten-Free Oatmeal, you can savor your breakfast oatmeal with peace of mind, knowing it is produced with strict adherence to cross-contamination protocols.

Oats are known to be contaminated with gluten grains in growing, harvesting, and packaging, which is why it’s so important to be sure you’re only buying purity protocol gluten-free oats for your gluten-free diet. That’s why Jules worked so hard to find the right oats for you, as safety is her #1 priority! Now you no longer have to worry about finding safe gluten-free oats -- Jules has got you covered.

Ingredients / Materials

Living gluten-free comes with its challenges, and oats are one of the biggest culprits. Because conventional oats are often harvested using the same machinery as wheat, barley, and even rye, the tiniest trace of those gluten grains can find its way into the bag, making them a risk not worth taking.

That's where gfJules comes in. Jules gets the struggle, which is why the Purity Protocol Certified Gluten-Free Oats she chose are grown in dedicated gluten-free fields and put through rigorous protocols at every stage of production — from harvest to packaging — so that cross-contamination simply isn't a concern.

A gluten-free pizza crust mix should make a pizza crust that tastes like the ‘real’ deal. And Jules missed 'real' pizza almost more than anything when she was diagnosed with celiac disease. So, she worked hard to make a gluten-free pizza crust mix that actually made an authentic, chewy-yet-crispy, airy crust, or it wouldn’t have her name on it. She didn’t have to taste a lot of other gluten-free crusts in her research.

Now, Jules’ amazing mix has been voted #1 Gluten Free Pizza Crust Mix by GF consumers 6 times! Here’s why you, too, should trust this gluten-free mix to become a staple in your gluten-free household:

How To Use The gfJules Gluten Free Pizza Mix

Turn your oven into a pizza oven with Jules's simple directions! Or choose her easy no-rise option. Or bake on a grill. Or use this award-winning gluten-free pizza mix to make calzones instead! So many delicious options.

gfJules® Pizza Crust Mix Instructions

INGREDIENTS TO ADD TO ENTIRE MIX:

• 4 egg whites - room temperature (OR flax egg or aquafaba sub)

• 4 Tablespoons olive oil

• 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

• 1 cup warm water

• 2 yeast packets (included*)

To make 1 crust, use half of the above ingredients + 1 2/3 cups mix (8.5 ounces).

MAKE THE DOUGH:

Mix egg whites, oil, vinegar, and warm water with pizza mix and yeast* for 2-3 minutes. The dough should be wet and sticky.

FORM THE CRUST:

Spoon dough onto oiled parchment. Liberally oil your palms and spread pizza out to a 12-14” circle or small personal pizzas, adding oil to your hands if the dough is sticking. Create a raised edge to contain sauce. It’s so easy, even a 14-year-old can do it!

FOR PIZZA STONE:

Preheat oven with stone to 500°F. Cover crust with oiled parchment and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot. Remove the top parchment and transfer to a hot stone.

Bake for 3-4 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned, bubbled, and firm. Remove to spread warm sauce and toppings, then bake for 2 more minutes.

NO RISE METHOD:

Transfer the crust on parchment/pizza pan and place it on the bottom rack of the oven. Turn the oven on to 500°F. Bake for 18 minutes or until crust is lightly browned, risen, and firm. Add sauce and toppings, and bake for 3-4 minutes on the top rack.

YEAST-FREE METHOD:

Replace each yeast packet with 1 Tbs. baking powder + 1 heaping tsp. baking soda and replace water with bubbly liquid (like club soda, GF beer, etc.).

gfJules Lemon Gluten Free Shortbread

INGREDIENTS

8 ounces (1 cup) butter or vegan butter, softened (tested with Earth Balance Buttery Sticks and with Miyoko's Kitchen vegan butter)

3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar

350 grams gfJules Gluten Free All Purpose Flour (approximately 2 1/2 cups + 1/4 tsp.)

3 Tbs. lemon juice (or milk/buttermilk if making plain, non-lemon shortbread)

2 Tbs. lemon zest (omit if making plain, non-lemon shortbread)

INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare cookie sheets by lining with parchment paper.

Soften vegan butter or regular butter and cream with powdered sugar until well mixed. Stir in the gfJules Flour, alternating with lemon juice and zest until a soft dough is formed and all ingredients are incorporated.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured (with gfJules Flour) surface or pastry mat. The dough should not be too thick or too thin – approximately 1/4 inch. Cut out with a knife or pastry cutter or use an engraved rolling pin.

Transfer cookies to prepared pans and cover with wrap so they do not dry out. Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 90 minutes. (Or freezer for 30 minutes)

Preheat oven to 375F.

Once chilled, remove wrap and bake cookies for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are lightly browning. Remove to cool on the trays on a wire rack. They will be fragile until they cool, so do not remove from the baking sheets on parchment until cooled.

Dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon-sugar or leave plain.

It stays light and neutral in flavor, so it never overpowers your bakes or leaves you with that gritty, crumbly texture you might have experienced with other gluten free flours. FAQs

Q: What makes this multigrain flour different from regular gluten-free flour?

A: Most gluten-free flours rely on a single grain base, which can lead to that gritty, sandy texture you've probably experienced before. gfJules' Multigrain Biscuit & Breakfast Baking Flour blends multiple naturally gluten-free grains and seeds, which include buckwheat, golden flaxseed, and cassava, giving it a lighter texture, richer flavour, and nutritional value in every bake.

Q: Is this flour really free from all the top 9 allergens?

A: Yes! It is Certified Free From (CFF) all of the Big 9 food allergens — wheat, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, fish, crustaceans, and sesame. It's also dairy-free, corn-free, vegan, nut-free, Non-GMO, and Certified Gluten-Free by the GFCO, so it truly covers all bases.

Q: Is multigrain flour gluten-free? I thought multigrain meant wheat was included.

A: Great question, and a very common concern! "Multigrain" typically raises a red flag because many store-bought versions include wheat, barley, or rye. Jules does things differently. Every grain and seed in this blend is naturally gluten-free, and the flour holds the GFCO Certified Gluten-Free seal, so you can bake without any doubt.

gfJules® Gluten-Free Cut-Out & Sugar Cookie Mix Recipes

INGREDIENTS

• ½ cup butter (or vegan butter) OR shortening OR coconut oil
• 1 egg OR gluten-free powdered egg replacer
• ¼ cup+ milk (dairy or non-dairy)
• Food coloring (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Whip butter/shortening and ½ of the mix together until fluffy. Add egg/substitute, milk & food coloring, mixing until smooth, then slowly stir in the rest of the mix. If the dough is too dry, mix in 1-2 Tbsp milk.

For best results, cover the dough and refrigerate until cold to reduce stickiness. If using coconut oil, bring the dough back to room temperature before rolling it out. Heat oven to 375°F (350° convection), line baking sheets with parchment.

CUT-OUT COOKIES

Sprinkle a baking mat or a clean counter with gfJules® Gluten Free All Purpose Flour so the dough won’t stick. Roll dough to 1/8” thickness & cut out shapes, re-roll extra dough.  Transfer cookies to lined baking sheets & decorate if desired. Bake 5-8 minutes or longer for crispier cookies (bake time differs with cookie size and thickness, so monitor closely). Cool on wire racks.

SUGAR COOKIES

Form teaspoon-sized scoops of dough into balls, roll in sugar, flatten lightly & place onto lined baking sheets. Bake 10 minutes, cool on wire racks.

Makes ~ 36 cookies, depending on size.

FAQs

Will these cookies be "gritty"?

Absolutely not. That "sandpaper" texture in other brands comes from cheap rice flour. Because of Jules’ award-winning flour blend, these cookies have a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture that will have people asking, "Is this really gluten-free?"

Can I freeze the dough?

Yes! You can freeze the prepared dough to use later, or you can bake the cookies and freeze them after they’ve cooled. They’re perfectly portable for lunches or last-minute treats.

Tired of gluten-free scones that feel like dry, crumbly hockey pucks? You deserve an iconic tea-time treat without the gritty aftertaste!

Jules’ fail-proof gluten-free British scone mix recreates the magic of a true British tea scone (or even a fruit-filled American biscuit). Finally, a way to bake treats so light and delicious, nobody will know it’s gluten-free.

Tried and tested in a real kitchen, by someone who truly cares about the result. And quite possibly the best part is that this one-bowl recipe is so quick and easy that it comes together with a fork in a flash and bakes in less than 10 minutes!

gfJules Gluten Free British Scone Mix Ingredients

Making British scones gluten-free is notoriously tricky. Without gluten to bind the dough, scones often disintegrate the moment you try to spread the clotted cream or jam. To fix this, many mixes rely on heavy rice flour, which leaves a sandy texture in the mouth - you know the one! DEFINITELY NOT the pillowy softness a scone requires.

Not with Jules’ mix! Unlike big-box brands, this one actually behaves like real flour, helping you achieve that iconic tall scone that pulls apart easily by hand, no knife required.

1/3 cup berries, raisins, nuts, or chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare baking sheet by lining with parchment paper and setting aside.

Pour the mixture into a bowl and cut in 2 tablespoons of butter until pebbly, using a pastry cutter or two butter knives (or may be done with a mixer or food processor). Using a fork, stir in the egg and yogurt until the dough forms. Gently fold in fruit, nuts, or chips.

Turn dough onto a clean counter or pastry mat dusted with gluten-free flour. Pat dough to a thickness of ¾ - 1 inch. Cut into triangles or circles. Place onto a baking sheet and top with the remaining butter.

Bake for 8-9 minutes, just until the tops are lightly browned, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, but not wet.

FAQs

What’s the difference between American and British scones?

American scones are often triangular and sweet, while British ones are round, taller, and more neutral. With the gfJules British Scone mix, you don’t have to choose! Use the same bag and treat yourself to both.

What baking accessories do I need for British scones?

To get those perfect, sky-high scones, you don't need a kitchen full of fancy gadgets, but a few specific tools make a world of difference. Jules recommends biscuit/scone cutters and a silicone baking mat, a pastry blender, a scraper as well as a pastry brush to get that golden, crispy finish on top.

FAQs

How do I get my cookies to have those beautiful cracks on top?

For the best cracks, make sure your oven is fully preheated before sliding the tray in. Also, don't over-flatten the dough balls before baking—let the oven heat do the work of spreading them into those perfect, crinkly discs.

Can I freeze the dough for later?

Absolutely! Just roll your dough into balls (don't roll them in the cinnamon-sugar yet!), freeze them on a tray, and then pop them into a freezer bag. When you’re ready to bake, let them thaw for about 15 minutes, roll them in the sugar mixture, and bake as usual.
